Job summary

Smurfit Westrock Company is seeking candidates for positions across packaging operations to perform quality audits and monitor carton quality. You will verify completion, understand job sheets, and learn make-ready procedures while maintaining materials for production.

Roles require attention to safety and housekeeping, with duties including line clearance and reporting. Drug screening may follow a conditional offer before start.

Qualifications

• Ability to use and read basic measurement devices.
• Able to learn to operate testing devices (Chatillon, EJ Caddy, Mettler PM 480, Fluke IR Thermometer).
• Pallet jack certification is a plus.
• General mechanical aptitude.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to perform quality checks on cartons being processed.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document quality audits and verify job completion.
• Understand job sheets and check specifications to cartons.

Job description

This role can include Feeder Packer, Graphic Utility, Sheeter Assistant, Delivery Operator, and/or Aerator.

The Opportunity:

Perform and document quality audits, verify job completion, understand job sheet. Check job specifications to carton, learn to Make-ready machine, monitor carton quality, maintain materials for production, complete necessary reports (forms), maintain housekeeping to standards set by management, complete line clearance and additional job duties as assigned by department manager.

Compliance with all workplace rules, policies and procedures, i.e. SQF, safety, etc.

Protective Equipment Required: Safety glasses, ear plugs, Appropriate Gloves, Safety Shoes, Hair and Beard net if applicable, Bump Caps if applicable and Level 7 Sleeves if Applicable

What You Need to Succeed:

• Ability to use and read basic measurement devices, (calculator, tape measure, and rule
• Able to learn to operate testing devices (i.e. Chatillon, E J Caddy, Mettler PM 480, Fluke IR Thermometer
• Pallet jack certification is a plus
• General mechanical aptitude
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to perform quality checks on cartons being processed.
