Job summary

Gulfeagle Supply in Sterling Heights, MI is seeking a Delivery Material Handler to support our driver and ensure on-site delivery of building materials. You will use forklift, crane, conveyor, or hand methods to get materials to job sites and help with loading and securing loads.

This hands-on role requires physical stamina, ability to work outdoors in various weather, and the capacity to read instructions in English or Spanish. Experience with roofing materials is a plus.

Qualifications

• Read, write, and comprehend English or Spanish as required by the branch location.
• Knowledge of roofing material and distribution.

Responsibilities

• Loading or assisting in loading and securing materials on trucks daily.
• Verifying the quantities of materials for accuracy.
• Assisting driver in locating the job site.
• Spot driver when backing up into a job site.
• Directing driver in placement of the conveyor.
• Unloading or assisting in unloading materials by using forklift, crane, conveyor and/or by hand.
• Climbing up to a 40-foot ladder to deliver materials on a pitch up to 8/12.
• Ensuring proper stacking and distribution in the placement of materials on the roof.
• Ensure truck is properly equipped for delivery (cooler, straps, ladder).
• Maintain OSHA compliance as it relates to oneself and the company.
• Assist in inventory quarterly or as needed.
• Maintain warehouse, yard, and trucks in a presentable manner; minor repairs as needed.
• Ensure safe handling of materials with PPE and safe operation of vehicles.
• Aiding customers with materials and reporting delivery problems.
