Job summary

East Coast Metal Distributors is seeking a full-time Driver to safely load, deliver, and transport products to customers in the Durham area. You will support warehouse operations, maintain logs, and ensure compliance with safety rules.

The ideal candidate has a clean driving record, can pass a DOT physical, and communicates effectively with customers. A HS diploma or GED is required, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic office equipment.

Qualifications

• Must have HS diploma or GED; related experience may substitute.
• Must be able to pass DOT physical examination.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must be able to use general office machines and multi-line telephone.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a company vehicle to make timely pick ups and deliveries.
• Loads and unloads products for delivery.
• Provides exceptional customer service to customers.
• Must be capable of operating mobile applications relevant to logistics and delivery operation.
• Completes daily driver log and returns fuel receipts and other reports to manager daily.
• Notifies Warehouse Manager or Branch Manager of any needed service, repairs, or unsafe conditions.
• May operate a forklift to move materials and unload vehicles.
• Assists in processing sales orders when needed.
• Organizes delivery schedules.
• Observes all safety and company rules and regulations in the Driver Safety manual.
• Completes any other duties assigned by the Branch or Warehouse Manager.
