Job summary

Hellas Bakery & Pita, a family‑owned landmark in Tarpon Springs, FL, seeks a dependable Delivery Driver to move goods between production and retail locations. You will operate a 16‑foot box truck on local routes and support shipping/receiving, inventory, and occasional production tasks.

The role requires safety‑consciousness, good organization, and the ability to work independently within a fast‑paced team. Benefits include health insurance and a 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Valid Florida Driver’s license and an acceptable driving record that meets company insurance requirements.
• At least one year of shipping, receiving, warehouse, delivery, manufacturing, or related experience preferred.
• Preferred ability to drive manual transmission trucks.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Forklift and pallet jack experience; Forklift Certification preferred.
• Maintenance and Handiwork experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly and effectively interact with team members across all departments.
• Flexible Availability: Including weekends and holidays based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Review the daily Order Guides from our retail locations and check with management on planning the overall delivery day.
• Stage ordered racks, pull all dry products to add to outgoing retail orders while simultaneously communicating with the Pastry Department on staging the finishing pastry products.
• Load the vehicle with verified and completed delivery orders; secure products and equipment to prevent shifting, damage, contamination, or temperature loss during transport.
• Safely operate the Hellas 16‑foot box truck for local deliveries and pickups between Hellas locations and other approved destinations.
• Complete pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle checks; promptly report vehicle damage, warning lights, maintenance needs, or safety concerns
• Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, and forklifts to move, transport, and organize inventory.
• Verify and inspect contents of incoming/outgoing inventory loads including quality and quantity against shipping documents
• Assist management in maintaining inventory stock by properly storing inventory in their designated locations within a timely manner and using FIFO methods.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well‑functioning work environment, including oversight of the equipment you use daily to make managers aware of needed services or repairs.
• Assist with facility cleaning, Packaging Department responsibilities, and all other production duties as needed.

The Delivery Driver plays an important role in keeping products and inventory moving efficiently between our production facility and retail locations. This is a hands‑on position for a dependable, safety‑conscious individual who takes pride in completing accurate, timely deliveries and maintaining an organized work environment. In addition to operating a 16‑foot box truck for local routes, this position supports day‑to‑day shipping and receiving operations, including preparing orders, receiving inventory, and assisting wherever needed within the production facility. The ideal candidate is organized, attentive to detail, comfortable working independently, and willing to contribute as part of a fast‑paced production team.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Frequent physical activity, including standing, walking, sitting, and moving
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 70 lbs. on a frequent basis.
• Must be able to bend, squat, stoop, and reach repeatedly throughout the shift.
• Must be able to tolerate temperature fluctuations between hot production areas and cooler storage areas.
• Adequate hearing and vision (close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus)
