Job summary

Hawkins, Inc. in Fairborn, OH is seeking a Driver to load, deliver, and unload products safely and on time. CDL with Hazmat is preferred, with company support to obtain required endorsements. Ability to operate forklifts and maintain equipment is expected.

The role requires compliance with SOPs and DOT regulations, plus strong communication skills and basic computer use. Travel is 0–20%. Competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years driving experience preferred.
• Able to obtain Class B CDL with Hazmat endorsement and meet driving record requirements.
• Currently holding a Class B CDL with ability to obtain tanker and Hazmat endorsements preferred.
• Satisfactory driving records.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Office required; prior MRP or ERP experience preferred.
• Experience in a manufacturing or chemical environment preferred.
• Able to pass a DOT physical and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Deliver products to internal and external customer sites.
• Know equipment and process operations for handling hazardous materials per DOT standards.
• Complete shipping/receiving paperwork, inventory sheets, inspection reports, etc.
• Provide routine maintenance and inspection of vehicles and equipment.
• Maintain housekeeping standards.
• Report safety incidents to supervisor/manager or designated back-up.
• Communicate compliance, safety, and equipment needs.
• Operate independently while following SOPs and regulations.
• Travel varies from 0% - 20%.

ABOUT THE JOB

Hawkins is looking for a safe and dedicated Driver to join our team at our Fairborn, OH location. In this role you will be tasked with the loading, delivery, and unloading of products in a safe, timely and courteous manner. While a candidate with a CDL is preferred, no CDL? No problem! We will pay for and work with you to get your CDL!

Responsibilities

• Professionally deliver products to internal and external customer sites
• Responsible for knowing the equipment (forklift, hose, pump, etc.) and process operations of
  handling, storing, shipping and transporting hazardous materials compliant with DOT
  standards
• Accurately complete required documentation in paper form and/or on a computer, including
  shipping and receiving paperwork, inventory sheets, inspection reports, etc.
• Provide routine minor maintenance and inspection of vehicles and equipment
• Maintain housekeeping standards
• Apply all product quality and safety standards as well as report any product safety incidents to
  the Supervisor, Manager, or designated back-up (applicable to positions working in
  accordance with specific plant or company certifications).
• Communicate compliance, safety, and equipment needs as personally identified
• Ability to safely operate independently while adhering to all company Standard Operating
  Procedure (SOP)s and Complying with all applicable Federal, State, and Corporate environmental, safety and health
  regulations
• Perform other miscellaneous related duties, as needed

Requirements

• Highschool diploma or equivalent
• 1-3 years previous driving experience preferred
• Able to obtain and maintain a Class B CDL with Hazmat endorsement (must be 21+ to obtain) and a driving record that meets company requirements
• Currently holding a Class B CDL with ability to obtain tanker and HAZMAT endorsements preferred
• Satisfactory driving records
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Office required; prior MRP or ERP experience
  preferred
• Experience in a manufacturing or chemical environment preferred
• Able to pass a DOT physical and drug screening

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
• Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing,
  walking, climbing, bending, pushing, reaching, and pulling
• Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs and ladders
• Ability to wear PPE and equipment such as safety shoes, face shields, safety glasses, safety
  goggles, hearing protection, gloves and a hard hat; chemical suits and a hair/beard net when
  required
• Ability to safely operate an industrial forklift when required
• Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements (for respirator use, SQF-certified
  environments, etc.)
• Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions
• Willing to work around chemicals and industrial machinery

TRAVEL:

Travel varies from 0% - 20%

EXPECTED COMPENSATION:

$27.00/hr + 5% bonus eligibility
