Job summary

Hawkins, Inc. is seeking a Class A CDL Bulk Tanker Driver to operate a structured route, load/unload, and deliver products safely and on time.

The role requires DOT-compliant handling of hazardous materials, familiarity with equipment, and accurate shipping documentation. Candidates should have 1–3 years bulk driving experience, a valid Class A CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsements, and the ability to drive a manual transmission.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years previous Class A bulk driving experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Currently holding a Class A CDL with ability to obtain tanker and HAZMAT endorsements.
• Ability to drive manual transmission.
• Satisfactory driving records.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Office; MRP/ERP experience preferred.
• Experience in a manufacturing or chemical environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Professionally deliver products to internal and external customer sites.
• Knowledge of equipment and processes for handling, storing, shipping and transporting hazardous materials compliant with DOT standards.
• Complete required documentation (shipping/receiving paperwork, inventory sheets, inspection reports).
• Provide routine maintenance and inspection of vehicles and equipment.
• Maintain housekeeping standards.
• Adhere to product quality and safety standards; report any product safety incidents.
• Communicate compliance, safety, and equipment needs.
• Operate independently while following SOPs and environmental, safety and health regulations.
• Perform other duties as needed.

About The Job

Class A CDL Bulk Tanker Driver position driving a structured route. In this role you will be responsible for loading/unloading trucks and delivering products in a safe, timely and courteous manner.

Responsibilities

• Professionally deliver products to internal and external customer sites


• Responsible for knowing the equipment (forklift, hose, pump, etc.) and process operations of handling, storing, shipping and transporting hazardous materials compliant with DOT standards


• Accurately complete required documentation in paper form and/or on a computer, including shipping and receiving paperwork, inventory sheets, inspection reports, etc.


• Provide routine minor maintenance and inspection of vehicles and equipment


• Maintain housekeeping standards


• Apply all product quality and safety standards as well as report any product safety incidents to the Supervisor, Manager, or designated back-up (applicable to positions working in accordance with specific plant or company certifications).


• Communicate compliance, safety, and equipment needs as personally identified


• Ability to safely operate independently while adhering to all company Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)s and Complying with all applicable Federal, State, and Corporate environmental, safety and health regulations


• Perform other miscellaneous related duties, as needed.

About You

• 1-3 years previous Class A bulk driving experience required


• Highschool diploma or equivalent


• Currently holding a Class A CDL with ability to obtain tanker and HAZMAT endorsements


• Ability to drive manual transmission required


• Satisfactory driving records


• Effective communication and interpersonal skills


• Basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Office required; prior MRP or ERP experience preferred


• Experience in a manufacturing or chemical environment preferred

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds


• Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, reaching, and pulling


• Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs and ladders


• Ability to wear PPE and equipment such as safety shoes, face shields, safety glasses, safety goggles, hearing protection, gloves and a hard hat; chemical suits and a hair/beard net when required


• Must be able to occasionally use and wear a respirator for certain chemicals is required.


• Ability to safely operate an industrial forklift when required


• Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements (for respirator use, SQF-certified environments, etc.)


• Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions


• Willing to work around chemicals and industrial machinery

TRAVEL

Travel varies from 0% - 20%

Expected Compensation

$33.85/hr.
