Job summary

Hawkins, Inc. is seeking a driver/load/unload professional to deliver products safely to customer sites while operating in a regulated environment. You will handle hazardous materials, maintain paperwork, and keep equipment in good condition.

The role requires a Class B CDL with Hazmat, reliable driving history, and basic computer skills. Applicants should be prepared for periodic travel (0–20%), maintain high housekeeping standards, and pass DOT physical and drug screening.

Qualifications

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years driving experience preferred.
  • Class B CDL with Hazmat endorsement (must be 21+ to obtain) and a driving record that meets company requirements.
  • Currently holding a Class B CDL with ability to obtain tanker and HAZMAT endorsements preferred.
  • Satisfactory driving records.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Office required; prior MRP or ERP experience preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or chemical environment preferred.
  • Able to pass a DOT physical and drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Professionally deliver products to internal and external customer sites.
  • Responsible for knowing the equipment (forklift, hose, pump, etc.) and process operations of handling, storing, shipping and transporting hazardous materials compliant with DOT standards.
  • Accurately complete required documentation in paper form and/or on a computer, including shipping and receiving paperwork, inventory sheets, inspection reports, etc.
  • Provide routine minor maintenance and inspection of vehicles and equipment.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards.
  • Apply all product quality and safety standards as well as report any product safety incidents to the Supervisor, Manager, or designated back-up (applicable to positions working in accordance with specific plant or company certifications).
  • Communicate compliance, safety, and equipment needs as personally identified.
  • Ability to safely operate independently while adhering to all company SOPs and complying with all applicable Federal, State, and Corporate environmental, safety and health regulations.
  • Perform other miscellaneous related duties, as needed.
  • Travel varies from 0% - 20%
  • $30.00/hr. + 5% Bonus Eligibility

About The Job

Load and unload trucks to deliver products in a safe, timely and courteous manner.

About You

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, reaching, and pulling
  • Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs and ladders
  • Ability to wear PPE and equipment such as safety shoes, face shields, safety glasses, safety goggles, hearing protection, gloves and a hard hat; chemical suits and a hair/beard net when required
  • Ability to safely operate an industrial forklift when required
  • Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements (for respirator use, SQF-certified environments, etc.)
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions
  • Willing to work around chemicals and industrial machinery

Expected Compensation

$30.00/hr. + 5% Bonus Eligibility
