Job summary

Holmes Lumber is seeking a Dispatcher to coordinate store deliveries and lead the delivery driver team. You will assign routes, ensure loads are prepared correctly, and communicate changes to the schedule.

You will work with the lumberyard team to ensure loads are built correctly, maintain DOT compliance, and use our dispatch system to boost efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Previous driving and/or dispatching experience.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations.
• Strong communication skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Customer service skills to cultivate relationships.
• Ability to multitask while remaining organized.
• This is not a desk job, so must enjoy being active.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate deliveries with stores and customers to assign routes and schedules.
• Ensure that deliveries are made on time and loads are prepared correctly with the team.
• Communicate any changes in the delivery schedule and maintain driver logs per DOT regulations.
• Utilize the delivery dispatch management system to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Description

As a Dispatcher, you will coordinate deliveries with other stores as well as customers. This includes giving drivers their assignments and ensuring that all deliveries are made on time. This also includes working closely with the lumberyard team to ensure loads are built correctly. Any changes in the delivery schedule will be communicated by you. Ensuring delivery equipment is safe and maintained according to DOT regulations and ensuring drivers’ logs are completed and maintained according to DOT regulations will be part of your role. To improve delivery efficiency, you will utilize our delivery dispatch management system.
