Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking an Assistant Deli Manager to lead one of the store’s busiest teams and help customers make healthy food choices through outstanding service. You will assist in hiring, training, and developing the deli staff while ensuring product quality and compliance with safety standards.

The role requires a proactive, friendly leader who can manage inventory, coordinate production, and maintain department standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age with a preferred 2 years supervisory experience and strong knowledge of deli or related food service.
• Be dependable with a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Have strong communication skills both written and verbal and the ability to take and give direction in a team environment.
• Have outgoing, friendly behavior with a positive attitude and ability to interact with customers.
• Possess leadership ability to build, motivate and maintain staff with knowledge of reports and goals.
• Have strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Maintain Food Safety certification and comply with all regulations and standards.
• Have strong organization and planning skills; prioritize multiple tasks.
• Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Deli Manager in managing and merchandising the department for productivity and profit.
• Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Deli team.
• Coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through planning, direction, and teamwork.
• Help lead a team to deliver the highest quality products and customer service.
• Assist in hiring, training, and developing the Deli team.
• Unload deliveries and maintain deli equipment.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
