Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking an Assistant Deli Manager to help lead the Deli department, assist the Deli Manager with production, merchandising, and customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates are at least 18, with 2 years supervisory experience, strong communication, leadership, and Food Safety certification; must lift up to 70 lbs and stand up to 8 hours, with a flexible schedule including nights/weekends/holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age with 2 years supervisory experience and deli/related food service knowledge.

• Strong written and verbal communication and ability to take and give direction.
• Outgoing, friendly, positive attitude and ability to interact with customers.
• Proven leadership to motivate and maintain staff, with knowledge of reports and financial goals.
• Detail-oriented with analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Food Safety certification; comply with federal, state, and company safety/sanitation standards.
• Strong organization and planning skills; able to prioritize and multitask.
• Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs and stand for up to 8 hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Deli Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit.
• Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Deli team.
• Coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork.
• Assist in leading a team that delivers the finest quality of product and service to customers.
• Assist in hiring, teaching, training, developing the Deli team.
• Unload deliveries, operate, and maintain deli equipment.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation guidelines/regulations by all team members.
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment and contribute to a positive team atmosphere.
