Job summary

The Fresh Market in The Villages, FL is seeking a Deli Specialist to ensure deli department excellence, maintain product freshness, and uphold food safety standards while delivering exceptional guest experiences.

You will support inventory accuracy, planograms, and promotions, and engage guests with a friendly, helpful approach on the sales floor. Flexible weekends and holidays are required as part of this role.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in retail, grocery, restaurant, or hospitality operations.
• Strong attention to detail with organizational skills, ability to multitask, and work at a fast pace.
• Preferred: retail, culinary, and/or grocery experience.
• Experience with electronic shelf label systems, inventory management technology, or AI-enabled retail tools.

Responsibilities

• Ensure deli products meet freshness and quality standards, including proper rotation and dating.
• Execute planograms and maintain accurate product placement and signage.
• Coordinate with department leadership on ordering and replenishment of deli items.
• Verify deliveries for accuracy and freshness, ensuring proper receiving and storage procedures.
• Play a key role in compliance during item transitions and promotional events.
• Follow all policies, food safety requirements, and sanitation procedures.
• Engage guests with a friendly, helpful approach on the sales floor.
