Job summary

Military Deli & Bakery Services seeks an Assistant Manager/Shift Lead to support the deli/bakery team at a US Military Commissary location. You will lead 5–10 employees, uphold food safety and sanitation, and ensure excellent customer service for military personnel and families.

This hands-on role requires prior shift lead or management experience, grocery/food service background, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Weekend availability and fast-paced environment readiness are needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years grocery or 2+ years food service experience.
• Shift lead/management experience mandatory.
• Ability to stand and walk for the entire shift.
• Lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Assist Deli/Bakery Manager in leading the department and directing 5–10 employees.
• Maintain high levels of customer service and ensure compliance with commissary requirements.
• Oversee food safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
• Manage inventories by tracking weekly reports and ordering supplies.
• Assist in scheduling and training employees; delegate tasks.
