Job summary

Cosentino's Price Chopper in Smithville, MO is seeking a part-time Deli Clerk to assist customers and support kitchen operations, while upholding sanitary and health protocols.

Reporting to the Deli Manager, this non-exempt position requires a food handling permit within 14 days and completion of ongoing training.

High school diploma preferred; duties include cleaning, stocking, rotating product, helping prep staff, and delivering friendly service.

Qualifications

• A food handling permit must be obtained within the first 14 days of employment.
• Ongoing training and development as listed on the Cosentino’s Learning Plan.
• High school diploma preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean equipment, food prep areas, dishes and utensils per Food Safety guidelines.
• Empty and clean all trash receptacles.
• Provide assistance to prep cook and kitchen as needed.
• Rotate product dates to ensure proper monitoring.
• Ensure coolers, freezers and prep areas are clean and ready for deliveries.
• Unload shipments and stock designated areas without damage.
• Meet or exceed productivity standards.
• Answer customer questions accurately and courteously.
• Follow Cosentino’s Customer Service Standards.
• Operate, clean and maintain equipment safely.
• Adhere to health regulations, sanitation guidelines and safety procedures.
• Demonstrate strong verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrate basic math and reading skills.
