Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking an Assistant Deli Manager to help customers make healthy food choices by delivering exceptional service while leading one of the store’s busiest teams. You will support ordering, inventory, quality control, and staff development in a fast-paced deli.

You will coordinate production and merchandising, ensure health and sanitation standards are met, and contribute to hiring, training, and developing the team.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with supervisory experience in deli or related food service.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Strong written and verbal communication with the ability to take and give direction within a team.
• Outgoing, friendly demeanor with a positive attitude and customer-service orientation.
• Proven leadership to build, motivate and maintain staff while tracking reports and financial goals.
• Demonstrates attention to detail and strong organizational skills; able to plan and multitask.
• Must maintain Food Safety certification and adhere to all safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Deli Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit.
• Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Deli team.
• Coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork.
• Assist in leading a team that delivers high quality products and outstanding service.
• Assist in hiring, teaching, training, and developing the Deli team.
• Unload and sort deliveries, operate and maintain deli equipment.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, and train staff accordingly.
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment and contribute to a positive work culture.
