Job summary

Lowes Foods is seeking a Deli Manager to supervise and ensure top guest service, merchandising programs, and department operations within the deli. After training, bench managers are expected to fill a Department Manager role within 30 miles of their home, or remain in the bench role until a position opens.

The role requires managing staff, ensuring product quality and safety, and achieving department budgets. It offers a path toward leadership roles within the store network.

Qualifications

• Friendly, outgoing personality.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Effective communication, guest service and selling skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to bend, kneel and stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to supervise people including training and development.
• Knowledge of deli operations.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to read and understand information and direction.
• Ability to work well with computers.

Responsibilities

• Ensure guests receive polite, friendly service from the deli department staff.
• Achieve budgeted sales, shrink and profits for the deli department.
• Maintain desired level of inventory and supplies.
• Operate the department according to merchandising and operational guidelines and programs.
• Ensure the quality of product for sale meets Lowes Foods standards.
• Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department according to Lowes Foods standards.
• Provide guidance, orientation, training and feedback to ensure deli department hosts achieve satisfactory performance standards.
• Perform product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking and guest service as necessary to achieve standards.
• Maintain department’s labor budget and scheduling standards.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
• Performs PA announcements.
