Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market in California is seeking a Deli Manager to lead one of our busiest departments, deliver exceptional customer service, and empower a dedicated team to drive sales and quality standards. You will oversee daily operations, scheduling, inventory, training, safety compliance, and collaboration with store leadership to create a positive, healthy shopping experience for guests.

This role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication, and a passion for fresh foods.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age with 2 years of supervisory experience and 2 years of deli department experience; or an acceptable combination of experience.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Possess working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals.
• Demonstrate outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude towards Team Members and customers.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to take and give direction in a team environment.
• Strong organization and planning skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
• Maintain Food Safety certification and ensure compliance with federal, state, and company regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage and merchandise the deli department for maximum productivity and profit.
• Order and manage inventory controls and ensure product quality.
• Coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through planning, direction, and teamwork.
• Lead a team to deliver high-quality products and exceptional service.
• Coach and evaluate team members; participate in bi-annual performance reviews.
• Attend in-store meetings and recruit/hire with Store Manager input.
• Address team concerns with independent judgment and document actions.
• Create schedules and manage staffing levels to maximize efficiency.
• Oversee product orders, receiving, storage, and deli equipment maintenance.
• Ensure health, safety, and sanitation guidelines are followed.
• Collaborate with Store Manager and Assistant Deli Manager for store success.
