Job summary

The Community Mercantile, Inc. is hiring a Deli / Kitchen Specialist in Lawrence, KS. This full-time role leads daily department operations, delivers friendly service, and ensures quality standards while working with the Kitchen Manager.

The position emphasizes coaching staff, managing customer flow, training on recipes and safety practices, and maintaining department accuracy. Weekend and holiday availability is required.

Qualifications

• Availability of 35+ hours/week

• Able to read instructions and follow procedures accurately

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with department manager to guide daily operations within the department.
• Provide exceptional, prompt, and friendly service in person and over the phone.
• Handle stressful situations calmly and maintain a positive impression on staff and customers
• Assist with achieving cost, margin, expense, and labor targets
• Coach and train staff on day-to-day duties and recipes
