Job summary

The Merc Co+op in Lawrence, KS is seeking a Deli/Kitchen Specialist to lead daily department operations and deliver exceptional customer service. You will guide staff, train team members, and ensure safety and quality standards are met while working closely with the Kitchen Manager.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate dependability, strong communication, and the ability to manage tasks under pressure. This role requires weekend and holiday availability in a fast-paced, cooperative environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Guide daily operations within the department.
• Provide exceptional service in person and over the phone.

• Delegate tasks based on customer flow and priorities.
• Work with Manager to meet cost, margin, expense, and labor targets.
• Coach and train staff on duties and procedures.
• Support training for safe food handling practices and equipment.
