Job summary

Cosentino's in Overland Park, KS is seeking a Deli Prep Manager to prepare, label and package deli products while delivering courteous service to customers. You will report to the Deli Manager and help maintain inventory, rotate stock, and ensure cleanliness in all prep and service areas.

The role requires adherence to health and safety standards, participation in on-going training, and the ability to respond to customer questions professionally.

Qualifications

• Food handling permit must be obtained within the first 14 days of employment.
• Ongoing training and development as listed on the Cosentino's Learning Plan.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently and accurately prepare, package and label deli products for customers.
• Practice proper portion control in deli production and service.
• Manage inventory by counting, verifying invoices and inspecting deliveries for shortages or damage.
• Rotate stock to ensure product dates are monitored.
• Prep and produce at least one full day on deli production for refrigerated cases.
• Meet daily production planner expectations and complete inventory as guided by the Deli Support team.
• Keep coolers, freezers and prep areas clean and organized.
• Assist with thawing for next day's catering or hot line production as needed.
• Know department items to answer customer questions accurately and courteously.
• Resolve customer complaints professionally and involve management when appropriate.
• Follow Cosentino's Customer Service Standards.
• Operate, clean and maintain equipment safely and competently.
• Comply with health, sanitation and safety regulations for the department and store.
• Demonstrate strong verbal and interpersonal skills with customers and peers.
• Demonstrate basic math and reading skills.
