Job summary

Bozeman Community Food Co-op is seeking a part-time Cook II to prepare high-quality, healthy offerings for the deli across PK, RK, and Soup shifts. Shifts are Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday from 7am to 3pm, with duties including cooking, tasting, and portioning ready-to-sell dishes.

The role requires one year of commercial food service experience and knowledge of proper food handling procedures, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work early hours as needed.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in commercial food service required.
• Knowledge of proper food handling procedures required.
• Ability to follow recipes and produce large quantities.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and occasionally 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare attractive, high-quality entrees, soups, and other dishes for the deli, using existing recipes or creating new ones.
• Prep, cook, taste, and season every dish prior to distributing to retail kitchens.
• Accurately weigh, label, and record product information; monitor temperatures.
• Create soups following set recipes or with short-dated products prior to expiration; maintain labeling and storage procedures.
• Document out-of-stock and waste items; maintain sanitary work areas meeting Health Department standards.
