Job summary

The Fresh Market in Kentucky is seeking a Deli Department Lead who will support the Deli Department Manager and lead the team to deliver an extraordinary guest experience. You’ll coach and develop colleagues, celebrate successes, and ensure the department looks its best while solving problems quickly.

This role requires a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays, and rewards leadership, hospitality, and teamwork with opportunities to grow within a warm, guest‑focused

Qualifications

• 1+ years of progressive management experience in supermarkets, retail, restaurants, hotels, or general business.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop high performing teams.
• Proven ability to deliver an exceptional guest experience while achieving performance goals.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Basic proficiency with POS systems, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Monitor labor schedules to meet productivity and budget goals.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels, minimize shrink, and support ordering processes.
• Serve as a resource in the manager's absence.
• Model hospitality by engaging guests and creating positive experiences.
• Assist in merchandising strategies and promotional plans to maximize sales.
• Analyze department financial and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with department leaders to drive store success.
• Leverage available technology to perform tasks.
