Responsibilities

• Keeps Deli service areas well stocked and appealing to meet customer demands.
• Smiles and greets customers, answers questions and helps resolve concerns promptly in a polite and professional manner.
• Ensures freshness and correct prices and signs on merchandise in display cases.
• Properly rotates product and handles spoiled or damaged items per procedures.
• Operates slicing equipment to provide meats and cheeses per customer preferences.
• Packages items with price, weight and date and prepares ready-to-eat foods to order.
• Prepares platters of sliced meats, cheeses and vegetable trays and adheres to safety policies when preparing food.
• May operate cash register and follows money handling procedures to avoid discrepancies.
• Adheres to laws related to tobacco and alcohol sales and maintains department sanitation.
