Job summary

Weis Markets, located in the Harrisburg area, is seeking a Deli Associate to keep service areas stocked and welcoming, greet customers, and provide prompt, friendly assistance. You will follow company recipes and safety policies while preparing and packaging a variety of foods and helping with displays and labeling.

The role may include occasional cash register duties, inventory support, sanitation, and teamwork to ensure a clean, safe store environment.

Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience Completed or working towards a High School Diploma or GED.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Keep deli service areas stocked and appealing to meet customer demands.
• Smiles and greets customers, answers questions and helps resolve concerns promptly in a polite and professional manner.
• Operate slicing equipment to provide meats and cheeses based on customer preferences; package items and apply price/weight/date labels; prepare ready-to-eat foods and platters.
• Adhere to company recipes and safety policies when preparing food items such as chicken, pizza, sandwiches, salads and other items.
• May operate cash register; follow money handling policies.
• Maintain sanitation and health standards in the department; follow cleaning schedules and dispose of trash
• Assist in inventory control and proper product handling; log and rotate stock
• Cooperate with coworkers and superiors to ensure smooth department function and continuous improvement of performance.
