Job summary

99 Ranch Market in Hackensack, NJ is seeking a Hot Deli Clerk for part-time work in our deli department. You will assist in food preparation, stock management, display setup, and customer service, while maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen, deli, grocery, restaurant, or customer service experience is preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
• Knowledge of ingredients, vegetables, meats carried in the department.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of all food items, including washing, cutting, weighing and other required procedures.
• Assist in transferring or withdrawing stock to and from cold or dry storage.
• Monitor expiration dates and stock newer products on shelves.
• Keep food production area and equipment clean and sanitized.
• Follow food safety practices and OSHA guidelines in cleaning chemicals.
• Handle expired/recall items per policy and maintain logs.
• Set up displays and ensure shelf tags and stock levels are correct.
• Maintain clear aisles and safe work areas.
• Assist customers with orders and questions.
• Perform cash handling procedures accurately at checkout.
• Perform other duties as needed.
