Job summary

99 Ranch Market, the largest Asian supermarket chain in the United States, is seeking a Hot Deli Clerk in New Jersey for a part-time role. You will assist in food preparation, stock management, and maintain a clean, safe deli area with proper sanitation practices.

Responsibilities include serving customers, handling cash, rotating stock, and setting up promotional displays. Previous kitchen or deli experience is preferred; candidates must stand for extended periods and be able to lift 30 lbs.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen, deli, or customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
• Working knowledge of ingredients, vegetables, and meats in the department.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of all food items (washing, cutting, weighing) as needed.
• Transfer or withdraw stocks and ingredients to/from cold or dry storage.
• Monitor expiration dates and rotate stock to keep shelves fresh.
• Maintain cleanliness of the production area, including equipment and surfaces.
• Follow food safety practices and OSHA guidelines for handling chemicals.
• Set up displays, ensure shelf tags are correct, and keep refrigerators stocked.
• Assist customers with orders and inquiries; complete checkout procedures accurately.
• Perform other duties as needed for business operations.
