Job summary

PCC Community Markets in Madison, WI is hiring Deli Helper Clerks to deliver excellent customer service at the deli counter and related stations. You will perform basic food prep, package deli items, and maintain clean, safe work areas.

This role requires flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, and the ability to stand for long periods while handling food. Prior deli or food prep experience is helpful.

Starting wage is $21.55 per hour with benefits as listed.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to provide excellent, professional customer service.
• Available to work evenings and weekends.
• Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Previous food preparation experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic math for measuring ingredients.
• A current Food Worker Card from the Washington State Department of Health is required

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent, professional customer service
• Perform basic food preparation in accordance with PCC recipes
• Counter and barista service, when needed during business operating hours
• Dishwashing and cleaning in the deli and production areas
• Packaging and retail merchandising
• Ensures department sanitation, cleanliness and safety standards are met
• Becomes knowledgeable about deli products, specialty foods, baked goods and prepared foods
