Job summary

Jerry’s Foods Sanibel is hiring a part-time deli associate to prepare a variety of meats and cheeses, fill and rotate cases, and keep the store clean and welcoming for customers.

Must be willing to handle meats and cheeses, lift up to 50 lbs, and work a flexible schedule. Preference given to candidates with food safety training and a customer-service mindset.

Qualifications

• Customer service-oriented approach and friendly demeanor.
• Basic knowledge of meats, cheeses, and deli products.
• Food safety training or awareness is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare deli products including a variety of meats and cheeses.
• Fill and rotate cases and display; assist with displays.

Location: Jerry's Foods Sanibel Reports to: Deli Manager Classification: Part Time Union Rate of Pay: Up to $17.00 an hour / depending on experience Hours: Sunday – Saturday, varied hours Jerry’s work perks: Store Discount Employee Assistance Programs Flexible Schedule

Position functions and job responsibilities may vary by store location.

FREQUENT:

• Physical: lifting/carrying to 50 lbs., pushing/pulling 500 to 1500 pounds walking, reaching, standing, stooping/bending, squatting
• Equipment Operation: scanner, register, scale, check approval machine, coupon machine, and intercom pallet jack, highboy cart, box cutter, tongs, steamer, slicer, wrapper, knives, roaster, chicken fryer, chicken hot case, pizza oven, coffee pot, cleaning utensils
• Mental: judgment/decision making, social skills/verbal interaction, memorization, reading, writing, math
• Environmental: exposure to hot and cold temperatures, hot equipment and cooking oil

OCCASIONAL:

• Physical: lifting/carrying over 50 lbs., crawling **FREQUENT: 15% of the work shift or at least ten repetitions per work shift. **OCCASIONAL: Approximately less than 15% of the work shift or fewer than 10 repetitions per work shift.
