Qualifications

Position Type: Part Time
Salary Range: $17.23 - $21.01 Hourly

Job Summary

We’re seeking friendly, customer-focused team members for the position of Deli Clerk. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, crafting delicious deli items, and providing outstanding service, we want to hear from you! The Deli Clerk maintains high-quality customer service and product presentation for all guests and staff at 7 Cedar Resort. Responsibilities include preparing deli food and barista items according to recipes, maintaining display cases and seating areas, and ensuring compliance with cleanliness and sanitation standards.

Note: Native American hiring preference for qualified candidates.

Essential Functions
  1. Greet guests, answer questions, and offer suggestions based on product knowledge; take and serve food and beverage orders.
  2. Provide excellent customer service.
  3. Operate and prepare foods/beverages using various kitchen equipment such as panini grill, convection oven, microwave, gas range/oven, dishwasher, food slicer, coffee grinder, and espresso machine.
  4. Prepare deli items by washing, peeling, cutting, shredding fruits and vegetables, and trimming meat, poultry, or fish.
  5. Clean and sanitize the electric food slicer.
  6. Process cash and non-cash sales accurately.
  7. Keep deli areas, customer tables, and seating areas stocked and clean.
  8. Follow Temp Logs and department closing procedures.
  9. Perform daily dishwashing and general cleaning, including mopping, sweeping, and trash removal.
  10. Apply basic maintenance skills as needed.
  11. Follow written and verbal instructions effectively.
  12. Work independently with minimal supervision, retaining department procedures and training.
  13. Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
  14. Adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
  15. Follow all policies and procedures of the department and organization.
Qualifications
  • 6 months of deli experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to menu changes.
  • Knowledge of scale management.
  • Experience preparing a variety of espresso and non-coffee drinks.
  • Proficiency with computerized cash registers.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-stress environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills for guest and team interactions.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Adaptability and positive attitude towards change.
  • Basic mathematical skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
