Overview

If you’d be excited to work in a professional kitchen preparing and cooking meals, consider applying for the position of Deli Clerk. As one of the fastest growing natural foods retailers, we’re seeking team members who are excited to share their passion for food.

Responsibilities

As a Deli Clerk, you will help customers make healthy food choices by preparing 'fresh and easy meals' and providing excellent customer service. Your tasks include arranging vegetables or sliced meats for made-to-order sandwiches, assisting with catering orders, and maintaining food safety standards. Opportunities for growth include learning about products and equipment, and developing customer service skills. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent, and experience in grocery, restaurant, or related fields, or a suitable combination of education and experience.
• Dependable and reliable
• Outgoing, friendly, positive attitude, good interaction skills
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
• Ability to answer phones and take special orders
• Lift/carry up to 70 lbs. for up to 4 hours; stand for up to 8 hours per shift
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work area
• Operate slicers and other equipment safely
• Adhere to safety, health, and regulatory standards; obtain Food Handlers permit
• Work in coolers and freezers
• Other duties as assigned
