About the Role: Deli/Bakery Clerk

The Deli/Bakery Clerk is responsible for keeping all food service cases stocked and clean during business hours. They are required to assist customers as needed and maintain a friendly, energetic demeanor. This position requires adhering to all procedural guidelines set by the Food Service Department.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Ensure cleanliness of deli/bakery cases, storage area, and work area for safety, including cleaning shelves, removing debris, and keeping floors safe.
2. Stock deli/bakery cases, present products attractively, face, fill, organize, and ensure pricing accuracy.
3. Monitor product rotation, discard expired or spoiled items.
4. Assist customers with inquiries, purchases, and product information, promoting cross-selling.
5. Receive and inspect shipments, logging for accuracy, temperature, and quality.
6. Maintain point of purchase signs, recipe cards, coupons, and promotional materials.
7. Operate food service equipment safely and effectively.
8. Prepare deli/bakery items using proper ingredients and techniques.
9. Weigh and label products accurately.
10. Assist with inventory preparation and back stock management.
11. Maintain high product knowledge and cleanliness standards.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; 1-2 years grocery retail experience preferred; experience in natural foods is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits
