Job summary

Luke's Local Grocery is seeking a friendly, team-oriented barista to deliver great customer service while preparing coffee, espresso drinks, breakfast items, and deli sandwiches. You’ll work with a collaborative team, learn Sightglass training, and help maintain a welcoming deli and coffee area in a fast-paced retail setting.

Experience in retail, grocery environments, and food handling is preferred. A positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn are essential for success in this

Responsibilities

Prepare and close the coffee kiosk window for the day's service.
Ensure the checkout experience is friendly and efficient.
Set and maintain the coffee and deli area.
Serve coffee and espresso drinks.
Prepare and serve breakfast items and deli sandwiches.
Monitor product expiration; ensure FIFO and waste reporting.
Provide an excellent and knowledgeable customer experience.
Demonstrate consistent work attendance.
Follow safe food handling procedures.
Assist in unloading and stocking deli/butcher merchandise.
Maintain a positive, equitable work environment for all staff.
Communicate with coworkers, supervisors, and others per our conduct.

About The Job

As a member of the Deli Line team of Luke's Local, you are responsible for providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving coffee and espresso drinks, breakfast items, and sandwiches to our customers. We encourage a team mentality at Luke's, and as such all deli staff often assist each other based on the demands of the day. Having a positive attitude, team mentality, and eagerness to learn is a must. Barista Experience is highly preferred. Sightglass training will also be provided.

Responsibilities

Preparing and closing down the coffee kiosk window for the day's service
Ensure the customer's checkout experience is friendly and efficient
Setting and maintaining the coffee & deli area
Serving coffee and espresso drinks
Preparing and serving breakfast items and deli sandwiches
Monitor product and check for expiration. Ensure products are routinely FIFO-ed and waste is accurately tracked and reported
Providing an excellent and knowledgeable customer experience
Demonstrate consistent work attendance
Knowledge and implementation of safe food handling procedures
Assist in unloading and stocking merchandise for the Deli/Butcher team
Maintaining a positive, equitable work environment for all staff
