Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking an experienced store leader to plan, direct, and supervise team members in daily operations across departments. You will mentor staff, drive customer service, and ensure efficient service during peak hours while upholding company standards.

Responsibilities include staffing, hiring, promoting career paths, training, maintaining store appearance, managing P&L and shrink, and delivering Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings to support growth and performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• At least 1 year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments across store areas (meat, bakery, produce, deli) and customer service experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and resolve conflict.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze financial information.
• Experience mentoring team members and coaching for growth.
• Successful completion of required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and supervise team members in daily store operations.
• Mentor and coach team members to improve service and sales.
• Implement strategies to enhance customer service and store performance.
• Maintain store appearance aligned with prime hours and company standards.
• Staffing, selection, and hiring to meet needs.
• Promote succession planning and career development.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions and make discharge recommendations.
• Ensure training completion for all team members.
• Maintain P&L accountability and shrink control.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings.
