Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2–3 years of related retail experience
• One year of management experience
• Rotational assignments in other store areas (meat, bakery, produce, deli) helpful
• Ability to communicate clear directions and resolve conflicts
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze basic financial info
• Experience with suggestive selling techniques and sales growth
• Commitment to a safe work environment and team development
• Completion of required certifications

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in daily store operations.
• Mentor and coach staff to meet service and sales goals.
• Staffing, hiring and succession planning to meet needs.
• Administer disciplinary actions and maintain consistent attendance.
• Manage P&L, sales targets and shrink control for the department.
• Model friendly, efficient customer service and Meijer standards.
• Provide training and ensure thorough job readiness across the team.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness during all shifts.
• Foster communication and Meijer Friendly Initiative in meetings.
