Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a store leader to plan, direct, and supervise team members across departments to optimize customer service and store performance. You will mentor staff, drive sales, and maintain store standards during peak hours.

The role requires 1 year of management experience and 2–3 years in retail, with strong communication and financial analysis skills to support decisions and promotions. A positive, safe work environment is emphasized.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
2–3 years of related retail experience.
1 year of management experience.
Rotational assignments in meat, bakery, produce and deli; customer service and product flow experience helpful.
Demonstrated ability to communicate directions clearly and resolve conflicts.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze financial information for decisions.
Experience in teaching suggestive selling and mentoring team members.
Successful completion of all required certifications.

Responsibilities

Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations.
Mentor and coach team members; implement strategies to improve customer service and sales.
Maintain store appearance and product presentation to meet company standards.
Staffing, selection and hiring to meet needs; ensure staffing levels.
Promote succession planning by identifying development needs and supporting promotions.
Document and apply disciplinary actions; make recommendations on discharge.
Ensure the department achieves sales targets and controls shrink; manage P&L.
