Job summary

Meijer Inc. is opening a new Glen Carbon/Edwardsville, IL supercenter and seeks an engaged Deli/Bakery Supervisor to launch operations from day one. You will lead daily deli/bakery activities, mentor staff, and optimize service, presentation, and customer experience.

The role emphasizes staffing, training, P&L awareness, and driving sales while upholding Meijer standards in a fast-paced, community-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members with clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and address root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information for decision making.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members across roles.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning by providing career paths and development for team members.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions and discharge recommendations.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings and conversations.
• Mentor team members to exceed customer service and sales goals and maintain Meijer standards.
• Ensure thorough training of staff and completion of required training.
• Spend majority of time in-store interacting with customers and team members to deliver exceptional service.
• Promote a safe work environment.
• Maintain reliable and consistent attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
