Meijer Inc. is opening a new Glen Carbon store and seeks an engaged Deli/Bakery Supervisor to lead day-to-day operations, coach team members, and ensure fast, friendly service.

You’ll manage staffing, promotion decisions, and training, while delivering strong customer service, sales growth, and adherence to Meijer standards. This role offers competitive pay, benefits, and opportunities to grow within a expanding team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas (meat, bakery, produce, deli) or customer service experience helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with team members.
• Ability to resolve conflicts by addressing root causes.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions.
• Ability to teach suggestive selling.
• Ability to mentor team members and promote safety in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise day-to-day deli/bakery operations.
• Mentor and coach team members to meet customer service and sales goals.
• Handle staffing, hiring and career development decisions.
• Manage P&L, sales targets, and shrink within the department.
• Promote Meijer Friendly Initiative in meetings and daily work.
• Ensure thorough training and safe working practices across the team.
