Job summary

Military Deli & Bakery Services is seeking an Assistant Manager/Shift Lead to support our Deli/Bakery operations at one of our commissary locations. You will lead a team of 5–10 associates, maintain high customer service standards, and help drive store profitability while adhering to food safety policies.

You will assist in scheduling, training, inventory tracking, and daily record-keeping to ensure efficient operations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years grocery or 2+ years food service experience.
• Previous shift lead/management experience mandatory.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods; lift up to 50 lb.
• Open availability including weekends and closing shifts.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must obtain Food Safety Management Certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist Deli/Bakery Manager by directing and managing 5–10 employees.
• Maintain high levels of customer service and compliance with commissary requirements.
• Oversee food safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
• Assist in scheduling, training, and delegating work assignments.
• Monitor inventories and track records to calculate monthly profits per policy.
• Maintain accurate department records and documentation.
