Job summary

Food Lion seeks an experienced Deli HMS leader to support store operations and meet financial and sales goals at Store 02112 Deli. You will supervise the Deli/Bakery HMS Associates in the absence of the Deli Manager, manage labor, coach for productivity, and promote a culture aligned with Food Lion Strategy.

You will drive customer service, ensure safety, maintain department standards, and use internal systems to track performance and inventory while assisting in meeting budget targets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to lead and manage a team.
• Strong understanding of store operations and merchandising techniques preferred.
• Effective communication, customer service, and selling skills.
• Willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job function.
• Must be accredited by or able to achieve accreditation as a Certified Food Safety Manager within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Deli Bakery HMS Department in the absence of the Deli Manager, including supervising the performance of all duties and responsibilities of Deli Bakery HMS Associates
• Daily management of labor and coaching of associates to achieve productivity
• Provide leadership and motivation within the store to promote a culture reflective of our Brand Strategy and Culture
• Support the achievement of budgeted financial and operating results
• Deliver fast, easy, flexible and friendly customer service to create a positive shopping experience
• Role model outstanding, friendly customer service and use skills and knowledge of department products to offer solutions
• Control store expenses through proper ordering, care for supplies and equipment
• Understand and use company tools such as financial reports, ACIS, scheduling, productivity, ordering (CAO), and business information systems
• Ensure department appearance, safety, sanitation are consistently maintained
• Ensure HMS schedules provide extraordinary customer service
• Order, receive, prepare, condition and display merchandise per policies
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions and ensure compliance with regulations
• Monitor shrink and provide coaching to prevent losses
• Maintain dress code and personal appearance per guidelines
• Complete CBT, Training Packet and Training Aid courses
• Meet physical requirements of the position
