Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency degree.
• Minimum 4 years professional experience.
• Grocery deli/bakery experience preferred.
• Natural foods experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare weekly sales and labor projections for the Deli/Bakery to maximize sales and profits.
• Monitor costs, inventory, weights, and pricing accuracy.
• Hire, train, schedule, coach staff and conduct reviews.
• Oversee shift operations and department schedules.
• Ensure ads are in stock and products are ordered and available.
• Stock cases, maintain presentation and pricing accuracy.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in deli/bakery areas.
• Assist customers and promote cross-selling at the counter.
• Receive and inspect shipments; log temperature and quality.
• Monitor stock rotations and discard expired items.
• Balance general ledger and department margins.
• Oversee pre-inventory prep and back stock; ensure proper tagging.
• Manage inventory to avoid stockouts and overstock.
• Weigh and label products accurately; follow dating procedures.
• Maintain proper temperatures during production; ensure product knowledge.
• Walk the department to ensure orderliness and sanitation.
• Other duties as assigned.
