Job summary

Fresh Thyme Market in Mayfield Heights, OH is seeking a friendly Deli/Bakery Team Member to deliver real food at great value. You will stock, prepare, and serve deli/bakery items, assist customers, and maintain a clean, safe department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency degree.
• Preferred 1-2 years grocery retail experience in Food Service department processes and procedures.
• Previous experience in a natural foods industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Keep deli/bakery areas clean and safe, including shelves and floors.
• Stock deli/bakery items with proper presentation and pricing.
• Check expiration, rotate stock, and discard outdated items.
• Assist customers with purchases, inquiries, and product selection; upsell when possible.
• Receive, inspect, and log shipments, monitor temperature and quality.
• Monitor signage, coupons, and promotional materials for accuracy.
• Operate equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, and pallet jacks.
• Prepare deli/bakery items with correct ingredients and cooking times.
• Weigh and label products accurately.
• Participate in pre-inventory prep and back stock control.
• Maintain product knowledge and department cleanliness.
• Walk the department to ensure organization and sanitation.
• Other duties as assigned.
