Meijer is seeking a Team Member to help create a positive shopping experience for customers across the store. You will guide daily tasks, assist customers at the register, and support team members to meet service and sales goals.

Qualifications

• Passion for customer service and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Experience in retail or customer service is preferred.
• Ability to influence others and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers to deliver a great shopping experience and smooth checkout.
• Communicate tasks to team members and assign daily work.
• Coach and mentor teammates to meet service and sales goals.
• Assist in training new team members and cross-training high-potential staff.
• Help schedule department coverage to boost engagement and profitability.
• Ensure product freshness through rotation and dating policy adherence.
• Maintain food safety standards and safe work practices.
• Lead in ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, and display as required.
• Support Meijer culture and inclusivity across the team.
• Operate register and handle cash as needed.
• Occasionally operate powered equipment in the store.
• Participate in period-end inventories to reach targets.
• May act in Lead capacity across departments as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
