Qualifications

• Commitment to customer service with engagement that conveys approachability.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Retail or other customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, bend and twist while handling product.

Responsibilities

• Engage peers to provide the best possible shopping experience for customers.
• Communicate with team members and assign daily tasks.
• Mentor and coach team members to exceed customer service and sales goals.
• Support training of new team members and cross-training of high-potential talent.
• Assist leadership with department scheduling to improve engagement and profitability.
• Ensure product freshness by rotation and dating controls.
• Guide the team on food safety standards and safe operations.
• Oversee ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing and display where applicable.
• Foster an inclusive Meijer culture and diversity.
• Operate a register and handle cash when needed.
• Handle powered equipment where applicable.
• Participate in period end inventories to meet goals.
• Lead in other departments as needed.
