Qualifications

• Passion for customer service and engagement.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, bend and twist while handling product.
• Ability to quickly build rapport and gain customer confidence.

Responsibilities

• Engage peers to provide the best possible shopping experience for our customers.
• Communicate with team members and assign daily work tasks.
• Mentor and coach team members to ensure customer service and sales goals are exceeded.
• Support training new team members and cross-training high potential talent.
• Assist with department schedule writing to improve engagement, service, and store profitability.
• Ensure freshness of products by monitoring rotation and dating policies.
• Guide the team in compliance with food safety standards and safe operation.
• Lead team members to manage ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing and product displays.
• Create an environment that supports Meijer culture, including Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
• Operate a register and cash handling when needed.
• Operate powered equipment, where applicable.
• Participate in period end inventories to help achieve goals.
• May act in Lead capacity in other departments.
