Job summary

Kroger in Oxford, OH is seeking a Deli Department Associate to deliver exceptional customer service and maintain a safe, clean environment that invites customers to return. You will assist the department manager in achieving sales and quality goals, stock the deli area, and ensure proper food safety practices.

Responsibilities include slicing deli meats and cheeses, sampling products, answering questions, and keeping products fresh and properly labeled while following company guidelines.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing).

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome and appreciated.
• Greet customers and answer questions about products sold in the department and store.
• Slice deli meats and cheeses to customers' requests using proper deli equipment.
• Provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes to prevent shrink.
• Recommend deli/bakery items to meet customer needs.
• Use deli equipment and maintain proper temperatures and logs.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product discrepancies to the department manager.
