Job summary

Kroger seeks an enthusiastic team member to deliver outstanding customer service in the deli/bakery area. You will answer questions, offer samples, and ensure products meet quality standards while staying compliant with safety rules.

You're expected to handle multiple tasks, slice items to order, maintain clean displays, and assist with samples and promotions. This is an on-site role with potential for growth within the Kroger family.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing).

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions about products.
• Gain knowledge of products and respond to questions with recommendations.
• Slice deli meats and cheeses to customer requests using proper deli equipment.
• Offer product samples and inform customers of deli/bakery/bistro specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products and correct portions to prevent shrink.
• Recommend deli/bakery/bistro items to meet customer needs.
• Use all deli/bakery equipment according to guidelines.
• Prepare food to company standards.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Monitor dates and maintain quality; adjust as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.
• Maintain equipment and arrange for repairs as needed.
• Report safety incidents and security risks.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment.
