Job summary

Military Deli & Bakery Services is hiring a part-time Deli Bakery Associate to serve military customers at a US Commissary location. You’ll slice deli meats, build sandwiches, prep party trays, and stock displays while maintaining sanitation and fast pace. Up to 29 hours weekly with shifts including weekends; opportunities for growth within MDBS.

Great pay, two weeks paid vacation after one year, holiday pay, and benefits; relocation options within 32 states are available.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Stand/walk for entire shift.
• Weekend shifts may be required.
• Previous grocery/food service experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Slices deli meats and cheeses to customer requests.
• Prepare party trays and sandwiches.
• Stock and organize displays; assist with shipments.
• Maintain sanitation and food safety; kitchen cleanliness.
• Assist bakery tasks if needed; cake decorating, etc.

Deli Bakery Associate – Part TimeHiring Immediately!As a Deli Bakery Associate at Military Deli & Bakery Services you will have the opportunity to serve our nation’s Military personnel and their families at one of our 103 US Military Commissary locations. At MDBS our number one goal is to demonstrate a love for food and a passion for people while creating an excellent customer service experience for our well-deserving military customers!This is Not a government job- Everyone welcome!Part time position- Offering up to 29 hours a week. Mid shift from 8am to 4:30 pm.Job Description:Maintains an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer service, teamwork with positive communication, and assist other team members as needed.Slices deli meats and cheeses to customer’s request.Prepares custom party trays and makes sandwiches accordingly.Stock and organize displays, to include helping with shipments as needed.Ensure proper sanitation of the department, equipment, and proper food handling/preparation.Demonstrates the ability to work in fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations.Other duties may include cake decorating, baking, rotisserie chicken preparation, or other deli/bakery tasks as needed.Qualifications:Must be 18 years of ageWilling to cross-train in bakery and deli tasks as neededEffective and friendly communication skillsKnowledge of basic math and the ability to follow written guidelinesAbility to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodationAbility to stand and walk short distances for an entire shiftTolerates working in freezers for up to 20 minutes at a timeTeam playerGrocery, food service or retail experience a plus!Some weekend shifts are requiredBenefits:Great pay!Paid Time Off: 2 weeks’ paid vacation after 1 yearHoliday Pay- 10+ paid Holidays per year, eligible at time of hire401k planFlexible ScheduleMore personal time: Our commissaries typically close around 7:00 pmGrowth Opportunities:If you are interested in career growth, here at MDBS we have a long history of promoting from within.
