Job summary

Military Deli & Bakery Services is hiring a part-time Deli Bakery Associate at Schofield Barracks, Wahiawa, HI. Responsibilities include slicing meats, preparing trays, stocking displays and maintaining sanitation in a fast-paced deli/bakery environment.

Minimum age 18, cross-training available, strong communication, basic math skills, and ability to lift up to 50 lb. Weekend shifts may be required; previous grocery/food service experience is a plus. Benefits included.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Willing to cross-train in bakery and deli tasks.
• Effective and friendly communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math and the ability to follow written guidelines.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation.
• Ability to stand and walk short distances for an entire shift.
• Some weekend shifts are required.
• Grocery, food service or retail experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintains an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer service, teamwork with positive communication, and assist other team members.
• Slices deli meats and cheeses to customer’s request.
• Prepares custom party trays and makes sandwiches accordingly.
• Stock and organize displays, to include helping with shipments as needed.
• Ensure proper sanitation of the department, equipment, and proper food handling/preparation.
• Demonstrates the ability to work in fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations.
• Other duties may include cake decorating, baking, rotisserie chicken preparation, or other deli/bakery tasks as needed.
