Job summary

Trolley Hospitality Companies, Inc. is hiring a Deli Associate for our James Center location in Richmond, VA. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 10:00am to 2:00pm, with no weekends, and duties include salad and sandwich prep, cashier service, phones, and expediting.

You will join Gourmet Gang, the deli division of our Richmond-based hospitality group. We value teamwork, reliability and guest-focused service, with perks like an EAP, employee meal, and 401k matching after one year.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience, preferably in a food service setting.
• Food prep experience.
• Experience running a cash register a plus.
• Able to follow directions and work independently.
• Effective verbal communication skills.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Salad & Sandwich Prep: Prepare menu items while maintaining food quality and freshness.
• Customer Service/Cashier: Greet customers, take orders, operate the register, and process payments.
• Customer Service/Phones: Answer calls, take phone orders, and assist customers.
• Expediting: Check orders for accuracy, package items, and ensure timely service.
• All Staff: Assist with opening and closing duties, including washing dishes, mopping, taking out trash, restocking restroom supplies, and completing other assigned tasks.

How You Will Make An Impact

We are looking for a dependable, team-oriented Deli Associate to join our James Center team! Depending on your assigned station, responsibilities may include:

• Salad & Sandwich Prep: Prepare menu items while maintaining food quality and freshness.
• Customer Service/Cashier: Greet customers, take orders, operate the register, and process payments.
• Customer Service/Phones: Answer calls, take phone orders, and assist customers.
• Expediting: Check orders for accuracy, package items, and ensure timely service.
• All Staff: Assist with opening and closing duties, including washing dishes, mopping, taking out trash, restocking restroom supplies, and completing other assigned tasks.

All team members are expected to maintain a clean and organized workspace, provide excellent customer service, and support other stations as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.

What You Bring To The Table

• Customer service experience, preferably in a food service setting
• Food prep experience
• Experience running a cash register a plus
• Able to follow directions and work independently
• Effective verbal communication skills
• Reliable transportation

The Good Stuff

• Base pay $14-15/hr with tip pool averages between $16-18/hr
