Job summary

The University of New England is seeking a Degree Audit Specialist/Scribe to manage and code degree requirements in DegreeWorks, ensuring accurate tracking of degree progress for students. You will test the system, audit progress for graduation eligibility, and advise on degree requirements with a strong focus on data integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of two years of Registrar's Office experience.
• Knowledge of student information systems and degree audit systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Comfortable with basic programming concepts; strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to handle FERPA confidential data and assist with data reporting.
• Experience with degree audits and advising on degree requirements is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review curriculum and requirements for academic programs and code them in DegreeWorks.
• Test and maintain the degree audit system to ensure accuracy and data integrity.
• Audit student progress for graduation eligibility and notify advisors of issues.
• Respond to degree audit inquiries and make corrections as needed.
• Counsel advisors on degree requirements and academic policies.
• Assist with processing degree requirement exceptions and substitutions.
• Support commencement verification and occasional front office coverage.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
