Job summary

Hendrick Technical Solutions in Charlotte, NC seeks a Quality Weld Inspector to perform detailed visual and dimensional inspections of welded components, coatings, and assemblies for defense manufacturing. You will verify weld presence, surface finish, and conformity to drawings, specs, and DFARS requirements.

Requirements include 2–5 years in manufacturing inspection, ability to read drawings and weld symbols, and experience with calipers and gauges.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
2–5 years of quality inspection experience in manufacturing; defense/aerospace preferred.
Experience performing visual weld inspection and inspecting powder-coated/painted parts.
Ability to read engineering drawings and weld symbols.
Proficiency with hand gages and basic inspection techniques.

Responsibilities

Perform receiving, in-process, and finished goods inspections per drawings and travelers.
Conduct heavy visual inspection to verify weld presence and workmanship.
Inspect welds for cracks, undercut, porosity, and other defects per standards.
Inspect powder-coated or painted parts for coverage, adhesion, and cosmetic quality.
Record inspection results and maintain audit-ready documentation.
Communicate findings to production, quality, and engineering for action.
Support first article and source inspections as required.
Follow ISO 9001 and defense contract requirements (DFARS).
Adhere to security and export control procedures.
